Overview:

As overdose deaths related to stimulant use continue to rise dramatically, medical practitioners struggle to treat patients with Stimulant Use Disorder (StUD). There are no FDA-approved medications for StUD, and available therapies have limited efficacy. In this talk, we will discuss the pharmacology and neurobiology of stimulants, epidemiology of stimulant use, the history of U.S. drug policy which often makes treatment difficult, as well as potential treatment options.
